On October 4, 2016, within the framework of the 13th Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia in Astana, General Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC Alexander Sovetnikov and Chairman of the Board of NC KazAvtoZhol Yermek Kizatov signed a memorandum on cooperation in the development of intelligent transport systems. One of the cooperation areas will be the development of possibility to use the on-board units of the “Platon” system installed on vehicles in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Conclusion of this agreement is a very important event. The cooperation of the operator of the “Platon” system and the National Company KazAvtoZhol will promote the creation of a common transport space on the territory of our states, will remove barriers to increase freight turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan, and increase the speed of delivery of goods,” said Maksim Sokolov, Russian Transport Minister.
“We are very pleased to start cooperation with RT-Invest Transport System LLC,” said Yermek Kizatov, the Head of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol. “The signing of today’s documents will begin the establishment and development of a strategic business partnership on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis for our companies.”
“Platon” is the only electronic toll collection system in the world based on open codes, our on-board units are completely designed and assembled in Russia taking into account the best world experience. This provides not only security and reliability but also the possibility of integration with the systems of neighbouring states for the convenience of carriers. Today, even European countries do not have a single logistics space; international freight forwarders have to install several on-board units, take into account the technological peculiarities of toll collection systems in each country, which creates barriers and leads to additional costs. Cooperation and exchange of experience with National Company KazAvtoZhol can become a basis for creating a single logistics space with the Republic of Kazakhstan and an example for other countries”, concluded Alexander Sovetnikov, the General Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC, which is the operator of “Platon” system.
