Operator of the “Platon” system and the Association of International Road Carriers in Poland agreed on information interaction

The Association of International Road Carriers in Poland (ZMPD) and the operator of the “Platon” system held roundtables for owners of HGVs exceeding 12 tonnes of gross vehicle weight on the Russian Federal Highways on May 12 in the city of Minsk-Mazowiecki and on May 13 in Warsaw. More than 100 representatives of logistics companies and carriers of Poland took part in the events. ZMPD President Jan Buczek and Commercial Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC Anton Zamkov agreed on an interaction for prompt information on the operating procedures of the “Platon” system and the organisation of consulting assistance to the registered carriers of Poland.

Today, more than 3,200 Polish carriers have registered 10,000 vehicles in the “Platon” system, about 60% of them have passed this procedure on the System’s website.

“Polish carriers are among the leaders, they account for about 10% of vehicles from the total number of non-residents registered in the “Platon” system. Our interaction with the Association of International Road Carriers in Poland is aimed at ensuring that Polish carriers do not encounter any difficulties when entering the territory of Russia, that they know all the procedures of the “Platon” system, pay a fee and avoid fines for violating the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation”, underlined Anton Zamkov, Commercial Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC.

ZMPD President Jan Buczek noted that Polish carriers that have extensive experience in working with various toll collection systems for the use of national roads in European countries need to study the requirements and understand the subtleties of the new system, which was recently launched in Russia.

“We were faced with the concern of carriers, they asked for help in resolving their individual issues regarding registration in the Russian toll collection system. Meeting in Moscow with representatives of the operator of the “Platon” system, we received detailed explanations on the generalised topics and decided that it was necessary to clarify all the details on the spot, having held a series of meetings directly with the carriers in Poland. At roundtables in Warsaw and in Minsk-Mazowiecki, representatives of Polish logistics companies received all necessary explanations and answers to their questions. These meetings were benefited all parties: carriers, representatives of the operator of the System, and the association,” explained Jan Buczek.
