From April 15, 2016, only the freight forwarders registered in the “Platon” transport system can obtain toll tickets for travel on Russian Federal Highways. The 7-day validity of the tall tickets is also established.
“We have informed the users about the changes planned since April 15 in the work of the “Platon” system 3 months before today. During this period, we conducted daily explanatory work. It gave record results. In late March – early April, there were days when carriers registered up to 7.5 thousand vehicles a day. Thus, 70% of all HGVs exceeding 12 tonnes of gross vehicle weight traveling on Russian Federal Highways were registered in the System: 237 thousand owners registered in the system more than 694 thousand vehicles. System users obtained more than 6.5 million toll tickets. 339 thousand on-board units were provided; they were received by all who submitted applications in time. Now, they are issued on a routine basis according to the order of receipt of applications from registered users,” explained Alexander Sovetnikov, General Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC.
For those carriers that have not yet been fully registered, the “Platon” system does not make delays. They can register on the website platon.ru, even if not all the necessary documents are available. It is possible to get a toll ticket and go on the road and attach documents later. The same situation is the case with the verification of the submitted documents. Prior to the receipt of the login and password for entering the customer portal, the carrier can obtain a toll ticket.
The operator of the “Platon” system RT-Invest Transport System LLC fully provided the technical possibility of starting a post-payment and will start accepting applications from users for receiving a deferred payment after the publication of the corresponding Government Decision. Post-payment will be provided for one month. This will allow Russian freight forwarders to pay a fee for the mileage travelled during the month following the billing period.
During the work of the “Platon” system, the Road Fund collected 6.2 billion roubles.
