The state system “Platon” received the Runet Award in the nomination “Technology and Innovation” as the most successful federal IT project of the year. The solemn ceremony of presenting the authoritative national award was held in Moscow on November 22.
The “Platon” system is the largest electronic toll collection system in the world in terms of coverage of the territory and the only system which software is written on open codes. The team of the project, consisting of one and a half thousand highly professional specialists, is working on its creation and maintenance. For all of us, the Runet Award is an honourable award. We managed in a record time to create one of the most technological and unique projects of the Russian market, which became an incentive for the development of transport telematics and the IT market as a whole,” said Anton Zamkov, the General Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC, which is the operator of the “Platon” system.
Electronic toll collection system “Platon” was introduced on November 15, 2015. All its objects are the property of the state. At the same time, the complete cycle of its creation, from design to launch, was provided by the operator RT-Invest Transport System LLC entirely at the expense of its own and borrowed funds.
The Runet Award is a national award in the field of high technologies and the Internet, which encourages the outstanding services of the leading companies in the field of information technologies and electronic communications, state and public organisations, business structures, as well as individuals who made a significant contribution to the development of the Russian segment of the Internet (Runet). The Runet Award has been awarded for the 13th time since 2004. Over this time, more than 350 organisations became laureates of the Runet Award.
