More than a thousand kilometres of roads and 30 bridges, repaired and constructed with funds from the state system “Platon”, are already mapped on the project’s online map dorogi.platon.ru. The website shows the distribution of funds for each region of the country, as well as the number of works performed due to these additional revenues in road funds.
The electronic counters on the website present key statistics on the operation of the “Platon” system: About 30 billion roubles have been raised since its launch in the state budget. In addition, data on 318 thousand freight forwarders with a total fleet of 877 thousand HGVs registered in the system have been published. It is noteworthy that 18,000 more HGVs joined “Platon” over the last month.
According to statistics, 87% of carriers operating on federal routes prefer to use on-board units of the “Platon” system. Other users choose one-time payment, registering more than 13 million toll tickets.
In addition to the objects of road repair, the “Platon” system stimulated the appearance of new investment projects at the regional level. As a new non-tax source of public funding, it allowed allocating the necessary funds for investing in PPP projects. According to investors’ estimates, the struggle for federal grants has increased the activity of the regions by several times in terms of preparing new infrastructure initiatives: if last year at the stage of preparation for competitive procedures there were about 20 objects, today their number has increased to 100.
