RT-Invest Transport System LLC purchased DataPro Tver data processing centre for the creation of the control centre for monitoring the toll collection system for HGVs exceeding 12 tonnes of gross vehicle weight

The operator of the toll collection system RT-Invest Transport System LLC signed a contract with DataPro to acquire a data processing centre (DPC), which is necessary to create a Control and Monitoring Centre (CMC) of the toll collection system for charging HGVs on the Russian federal highways.

Under the terms of the concession agreement with the state customer, the Federal Road Agency, for the functioning of the system of charging the owners of vehicles to offset the damage caused to Russian federal highways, RT-Invest Transport System LLC should provide the work of the CMC, as well as the infrastructure and equipment of the main data processing centre located in the same building. The CMC is designed to provide functions for collecting, processing, storing and transferring data, as well as for operational management and monitoring of the toll collection system.

RT-Invest Transport System LLC conducted a full-fledged audit of all subsystems of the centre with the involvement of specialists with Uptime Institute certificates and relevant experience in creating fault-tolerant world-class DPC. DataPro Tver DPC of DataPro Company, the Russian operator of the world standard data centre network, meets all the requirements of the concession agreement. This DPC is distinguished by a high level of technical equipment and quality of engineering infrastructure. The increased level of fault tolerance is confirmed by the availability of an international certificate for compliance with the Uptime Institute Tier III standard, which guarantees the uninterrupted operation of all systems. DataPro once again confirms the compliance of our DPC with the highest world standards. The centre should function 24/7 and year-round.

“We are creating a federal system with a strong infrastructure throughout the country. Similar systems have not been developed yet in the world. The control and monitoring centre is the main element of the system that will allow managing the entire structure in any part of Russia,” said Alexander Sovetnikov, General Director of RT-Invest Transport System LLC.

Evgeny Bogdanchikov, General Director of DataPro: “When searching for a potential site for CMC placement, RT-Invest Transport System LLC imposed very high requirements to the quality and reliability of the DPC infrastructure. The fact that the choice fell on the data centre

Currently, the work is underway to design and open the CMC by the time the system is put into commercial operation, which is scheduled for November 15, 2015.

Further plans for the company’s development suggest the construction of the second DPC in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Data Centre in Tver
The control and monitoring centre located in Tver has area of 2,650 sq. m.
The total capacity of the DPC is 4.5 MW.  The premises consist of four machine halls of 170 square meters each, which allows accommodating up to 400 server racks with both standard power consumption (about 5 kW) and high load (up to 20 kW per rack). The total area of the raised floor is 1,000 sq. m. The DPC is certified for compliance with the fault tolerance Uptime Institute Tier III.
